ArcelorMittal engages in forgery in France. I can imagine the current state of operations in 3rd World Liberia where there is inadequate or simply, no oversight.

So, our government sold our lives, resources and rights to ArcelorMittal? Terms of Mineral Development Agreement are held and adhered to in favor of the Arcelormittal for land, railway, ore, etc. However, provisions cannot be adhered to when it concerns "the people". - A Planner's Perspective

It is what it is in Liberia ... however, we have made significant gains internationally. ArcelorMittal can attest to my global efforts. Your many victims are humans too.

Are Other Minerals Being Mined by ArcelorMittal Besides Iron Ore? While reviewing Liberia's Mineral Development Agreement with ArcelorMittal, Section 4: Additional Minerals caught my attention. There are numerous allegations from both international and national sources suggesting that minerals other than iron ore are being extracted and shipped. Reports indicate that these minerals are mixed with unprocessed ore during transportation. Section 4: Additional Minerals states: "If the Concessionaire discovers that the Concession Area contains minerals other than those subject to the Class A Mining License, it shall have the right to mine such additional minerals, subject to the provisions of Section 6.7(c) of the Minerals and Mining Law." This raises serious concerns. How can a sovereign government grant such privileges to a corporation while neglecting the interests of both current and future generations of Liberians? For 20 years, Liberians have been shortchanged. Will the Boakai administration take the necessary steps to revise this agreement to better serve the nation's citizens, including those yet to be born? While other countries are strengthening their natural resource governance policies to maximize economic benefits and improve citizens' livelihoods, Liberia, Africa's 1st Republic remains at the bottom of the list.

For months, we have worked tirelessly to highlight issues related to ArcelorMittal’s exploitation, abuse, and neglect in Liberia. Our voices have been heard by international human rights organizations and news outlets, with some even interviewing me to shed light on these concerns. As a result, the Board of ArcelorMittal is under mounting pressure to address these negative trends, not only in Liberia but in other affected countries as well. However, meaningful change can only happen if our government prioritizes the interests of Liberians. We call on the President, the National Legislature, and key government agencies including the Ministries of Justice, Labour, Mines, and Energy to take timely and decisive action to protect the rights and well-being of the nation’s citizens. Now is the time for leadership, accountability, and justice.

ARCELORMITTAL, NIMBA AND LIBERIA: WHO TRULY BENEFITS? Billions in profits for ArcelorMittal; Liberians dehumanized, maltreated, killed, and neglected; Yekepa, a city rich in mineral deposits, yet highly underdeveloped. WHO TRULY BENEFITS? Yekepa, located in Nimba County, Republic of Liberia, is the site where ore is mined and exploited by ArcelorMittal, the global steel giant. Despite generating billions of dollars from ore sales over the past 20 years, this remains the state of the city that hosts Liberia’s biggest investor, ArcelorMittal. While we strongly encourage foreign investment in Liberia, the exploitation of our resources and the blatant violation of Liberians' rights are unacceptable!
